How to Add

  1. Open a table and click Fields in the top bar.
  2. Click + Add existing field.
  3. Select Created by from the list.
  4. Click Save.

Keep in Mind

  • The field is read-only. No user can change the value after the record is created.
  • It records the logged-in user at the time of creation, not who the record is assigned to.
  • If a record is created via automation, the value may reflect the automation's context rather than a specific user.

FAQ

1- Can I edit the Created By value after the record is created?

No. The field is set automatically at creation and cannot be changed manually.

2- Does Created By update if the record is edited later?

No. It only reflects who created the record. For tracking who last modified it, use the Updated By field instead.
