Keep in mind
- The field is designed for CNPJ numbers only — it does not support CPF (individual taxpayer registry) or foreign company identification documents.
- It does not validate whether the CNPJ actually exists or is active in the Receita Federal database — it only checks format correctness.
- It does not mask or hide the number for privacy purposes — the value is stored and displayed in plain text.
- It does not automatically generate or suggest CNPJ numbers.
FAQ
1- Can I use this field to store CPF numbers as well?
No. The ID - CNPJ field is specific to company CNPJ numbers. For individual taxpayer identification, use the ID - CPF field instead.
2- Does the field validate whether the CNPJ is real or active?
No. The field checks that the number matches the CNPJ format, but it does not connect to any external registry to confirm whether the CNPJ is valid or belongs to an active company.
3- Can I make the ID - CNPJ field required?
Yes. When creating or editing the field, toggle the Required field option so users must fill it in before saving a record.
4- Can I use the CNPJ value in automations?
Yes. The stored CNPJ can be referenced in automation conditions and actions, such as filtering records, generating documents, or sending notifications that include the company identification number.
