Forms combined with more blocks
- Creation and update forms: Create an app page that includes a form and the blocks listed below. If the form is combined with other blocks, such as tables, kanbans, etc., it will turn the form into a read-only version.
- Blocks that will continue to allow record creation or editing: image, YouTube, text, Calendly, super form, search filter, top bar, menu bar, mobile bar, Miro, embedded, button, charts, simple indicator, complex indicator, pie chart, speedometer.
- Read-only update forms: Lock fields in the form by selecting the “read-only” option for each field. If you combine the form with blocks that are not listed above, they will also become read-only.
Forms combined with other blocks
When a form is combined with other blocks (tables, kanbans, etc.), it becomes read-only. The following blocks are exceptions — they allow the form to continue creating or editing records:
image, YouTube, text, Calendly, super form, search filter, top bar, menu bar, mobile bar, Miro, embedded, button, charts, simple indicator, complex indicator, pie chart, speedometer.
Read-only update forms: Lock individual fields by enabling the "read-only" option per field. If the form is combined with blocks not listed above, those fields also become read-only.
Sharing apps
Public app pages give external users a visually read-only view. Public users can edit records only through an update record form, following the rules above. All other content remains read-only.
⚠️ Recommendation: use the Viewer role instead of public apps.
Public apps do not offer the same level of control and security as apps inside Jestor. With the Viewer role, access requires login credentials, reducing the risk of unintentionally exposing data. Viewer users are unlimited.

❗ Important: breaking change for app pages created after September 24, 2024.
App pages created after this date no longer allow direct public record editing. Older app pages will stop allowing direct editing on March 1, 2025.
To continue using update forms publicly, follow the steps under "Forms combined with other blocks." Otherwise, the app will be visually read-only.
