Forms

The best way of collecting connected data.

What is a form?

A form is a dedicated public page which can be used to submit data to a specific table in your jestor. This means that even non-users can send information and help updating your tables, with practical uses such as letting candidates send their applications directly to a hiring flow. It can also be handy as a dedicated internal tool for opening requests in a more streamlined fashion.

One of the best features of jestor's forms is that, if you have connected tables linked to the form table, you can put them on the form as well, and this will create records on the connected table as well with all the data properly connected.

How to create a form

To create a form, just follow the steps below.

  1. Go to the table you wish to create a form from and click on the forms icon:
  1. Click on "Create new form" on the panel, name your form and type in a description.
  1. Choose the fields that will be visible in the form and which will be hidden by dragging them.
  1. If there are connected tables that you wish to include in the form (such as a "Documents" table that connects to the "Hiring" flow), mark the "Add connected fields" checkbox and click on "Next".
  1. Mark the connected tables that will be included in the form and press "Next".
  1. Name the new sections and repeat the process of choosing the viewable and hidden fields.
  1. Click on "Finish" to create your form. You'll get a public link to share with whomever you wish! You may also have as many different forms as you want for a table.

There you go! Now anyone can send data to the table and all of it will already be connected.
