Tables

The best way of organizing data

What is a table?

Tables are the most important part of jestor. They're where you'll organize all of your data, which can be later used for apps (dashboards), automations, and integrations.

In jestor, you'll find that tables have a very similar look and feel to traditional spreadsheets. You can click on an individual field to edit it, and you can create as many columns as you like to store different kinds of information.

Each table can have many rows of data, and every row will have the same groups of information. For example, if you have a table for Clients that has Name, Email, and Phone Number fields, every new row (that is, each new client) will be able to receive those three variables. When you think about it, a table is a way of organizing information in a repeatable, standardized manner.

In jestor, we like to think of tables as the building blocks of processes. They're the fundamental pieces for a company to create efficient internal solutions and scalable workflows. However, just as important as the tables themselves is the way each table connects to each other, and to understand how to build the best possible relationships between those tables, we have to understand what a Relational Database is and how it works.
